THE STORY OF DILIJAN'S TRAILS

Dilijan is part of a much bigger trail story.

The Transcaucasian Trail began as an ambitious idea: to connect the landscapes of the South Caucasus through a long-distance hiking route.

In 2017, Dilijan National Park became the setting for the first large-scale trail-building project in Armenia. Volunteers and trail builders worked here to create an 85 km multi-day route through the forests and mountains around Dilijan.

Today, these trails are part of the modern hiking history of the region — and some of the landscapes we walk through on our tours belong to that same wider trail culture.

HIKING POLES

More support. Better balance. A more comfortable walk.

Hiking poles are provided on our walks. Before we start, we show you how to adjust them to your height and how to use them on climbs and descents.

Poles add extra points of support, help with balance on uneven trails and engage your arms, shoulders and core. Part of the effort is shared with the upper body, which can make a long walk more comfortable for your legs.

IS THIS HIKE RIGHT FOR YOU?

A simple guide: if you can comfortably walk up to the 6th floor without needing a long stop, the level will probably suit you. We do not hike for speed and we take breaks along the way.

Children are welcome from age 12 if they are used to longer walks.
